Pause & Paint: Dreamy Skies Edition*

Once upon a time,
there was a little girl who used to dream. She didn’t have much but that limitation boosted her creativity even before she knew what creativity meant. Her house was not big but big enough for her to run around or even play roller skates. That little girl was me. I never stop dreaming.
Years passed, and I got my first salary as a preschool teacher’s assistant in 2009. Few months passed, I stepped into my own classroom as a teacher.
I was never an easy child. I was not an easy student, either. It taught me patience and empathy, how to understand people.. individually. Perhaps, that’s why I became a good teacher: I know what it feels like to be misunderstood. I understand complexity and I love to make difficult things simpler.
With some money I’ve got, I followed some painting and pottery workshops. It was not a bad experience but it inspired me to dream that one day in the future, I’d create my own workshop that is better than what I had experienced before.
I wanted to share such an intimate, warm ambiance. I’d love to welcome each participant and make them feel seen. A space where calm replaces pressure, where patience is encouraged and where trying something new feels safe.
The subjects I chose are simple and peaceful. In December 2025, that long-held dream became reality. Every Saturday afternoon, I host a workshop focused on painting dreamy skies — gentle reflection inspired by Jehovah’s wonderful creation. The skies I admired during the first polar night in the Arctic were quiet, vast and deeply moving.
What began with 16 available spots quietly grew into 21, as Pause & Paint: Dreamy Skies filled within just ten days of its announcement. The workshop, which ran until December 27th, 2025, became something I could only feel deeply grateful for. Many participants were beginners—some holding a paintbrush for the first time—yet they allowed themselves to try, to slow down, and to feel at ease. The atmosphere was gentle and encouraging, filled with patience, soft guidance, and shared calm.
Every detail was chosen with care. I worked with high-quality materials—not for luxury, but to support the experience—and shared the warm cups of tea I love myself, offering a quiet sense of comfort. These small gestures helped create a space where people could relax, feel supported, and enjoy the process fully. What stayed with me most was how the experience brought people closer, strengthening bonds through a simple act of kindness toward the mind.
In May 2026, this journey will continue with a new painting workshop. It will not be about learning how to paint, but about offering our thoughts a kinder rhythm—a gentler pace, and a peaceful moment shared with friends and loved ones.
Through these workshops, I invite participants to slow down and to breathe. Not to chase perfection, but to reconnect with creativity, with patience, and with the calm that comes from contemplating Jehovah’s creation.
Treat yourself to a peaceful creative break in a warm and cozy settings, in the heart of Leuven — Belgium.
Every Saturday afternoon in December, experimenting with acrylic and gouache. One of the greatest act of kindness toward your mind.

I really liked how I could isolate myself from everything around me and just be in the moment with the drawing. It helped me feel deeply relaxed.

As a first-time drawer, it felt a bit difficult to follow the instructions at the beginning, perhaps due to nervousness. However, your clear explanations and demonstrations helped me relax, enjoy the process, and leave feeling light and inspired.

We live in a very rushed society, and we rarely take the time to pause and reflect. The things you kept saying—‘take your time,’ ‘let the paint rest,’ ‘breathe’—really stayed with me and made me think.

Thank you very much, Levine. This is exactly what I need after hectic weekdays. To stare at soft colors for hours was so calming.

For me, it felt like diving into the sea or a pool — the water is a little cold at first, but you know you’ll warm up and start enjoying it. I didn’t know how to paint, but you proved to me that I could do this. It was fun. I honestly didn’t want it to end.

As a very busy student, this workshop gave me a moment to learn a new technique and focus on my own imagination without the fear of making mistakes.
